    • «b»«i»Newspaper Clipping, Date ??:«/b» Death of a Crimean Veteran.- Mr Henry Sims, late of the Royal Artillery, in which he served twenty-one years, taking part in the Crimean war, died at his residence on Wednesday forenoon. He had a long service medal, Crimean medal, with clasp for inkerman and one for Sebastopol,and the Turkish medal. He was in the employment of Mcssrs James Miller & Company here for twenty two years, and in their service he died. He was very largely respected by his fellow townsmen. Deceased is survived by his widow, four daughters, and two sons, and it may be mentioned two of the former are married to artillerymen, and one to a petty officer in the Royal Navy. His youngest son is serving in India, and his other son also served in the ranks. Mr Sims was wounded in the leg by a rifle bullet while serving in the Crimea. He was a great admirer of the late General Sir Robert Cadell, K.C.B., both having served in the Crimea.«/i»
    • (Research):«i»Enlisted in the Royal Regiment of Artillery on the 31 dec 1852, at Aston in the county of Salop. Aged 18, Trade Labourer, Hight 5' 6 1/4", Complex Fair, Eyes Blue, Hair Fair. Served Abroad - Crimean War 30 Sep 1854 to 19 Jul 1856, wounded at Sebastopol 22 Oct 1854, Distingushed himself at Inkerman and Sebastopol. Discharged Jersey Channel Isle on the 25 Aor 1874.
