    • On the 1871 Census Phillip and Rebecca have 4 grandchildren with them, William Card born abt 1868 Hadlow, would be the son of Sophia, William later used the name Hoad after his mothers marriage to Henry Hoad. Phillip Card born abt 1869 Tonbridge, Catherine Card born abt 1867 Hadlow, Caleb born abt 1870 Tonbridge, also listed on the 1881 Census is Caleb aged 12 born abt 1870 Tonbridge, at the Union Workhouse near Sandhill,Pembury, Tonbridge, the only other Card in the workhouse is a Ellen Card aged 44 Laundress, both listed as Paupers.
